In an announcement made Thursday by the Iraq Security Media Cell (SMC), 91 people of various nationalities who attempted to cross the Iraqi border illegally were arrested. The Agency for Intelligence and Federal Investigation within the Ministry of Interior has been able to arrest 91 persons from different countries.
The arrestees consisted of both women and men who had attempted to cross Iraq’s border from neighboring countries in an illegal way during the past few days, the SMC said in an official statement. As a result of their actions, all the necessary legal measures for restraining the intruders have been taken in accordance with the provisions contained in article (24/Residence Law of Iraq).
